I've been writing and telling stories since I was a young child. Perhaps it was inevitable since I would sit at the feet of my maternal grandmother, Ida Francis Mewborn, and listen for hours as our family's oral history was passed down - to ensure the legacy would continue. So it's not ironic that I would call grappling with words and language my budding career —and loving every moment.
